Marvel has announced the release of Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past, a new tie-in mobile game for the upcoming movie. The game will be available for both Android devices and iOS in May. Marvel has partnered with GlitchSoft, the developers of He-Man, for this upcoming mobile game, which is slated to be 2D and side-scrolling, with a focus on story. Kind of sounds like the X-Men arcade game.
“Glitchsoft came to us with a pedigree of rock-solid game development, strong production values, and a passion for the Uncanny X-Men franchise that was impossible to ignore,” said TQ Jefferson, VP of Games Production at Marvel. “It’s these sorts of qualities that we look for in a partner, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our version of ‘Days of Future Past’ to mobile.”
Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past will be based on the Days of Future Past story arc, which was published in 1980 as part of the popular Uncanny X-Men comics. The story follows the events surrounding Kitty Pryde. She’s a present day mutant, who is overtaken by the mind of her older self. With the knowledge of what happens in the future, Kitty attempts to prevent a moment in history that turns everyone against mutants.
We will have more information as the game comes closer to release. Be sure to check back as will have a full review of the game when it is available.
