Casters of Kalderon, by Helmeni Games, is a massive MMORTS to fit onto a hand held device. So much so that I’d expect to see a game like this on a PC. The world is huge, and the in-game economy and political system are rather complex. You can see that from the beginning Casters of Kalderon is almost overwhelming. From starting up the game you will see that you have a lot to learn. Fortunately there is a guide that will walk you through building your village, populating it, and growing an army so you can soon expand your empire. when starting the game the developers have granted you one week of protection time so your village won’t be invaded by other online players. This should give you time to farm, tax your people, train your cavalries, and familiarize yourself with the game.

Most of your time playing Casters of Kalderon you’ll be managing your empire from an aerial view, but if you choose to, you can run around as your customized caster. Later on in the game, you’ll even be able to embody a bird to scout ahead across the large online realm as seen in the picture above. This will come in handy when you’re trying to expand your empire by force. While its in its Beta state, things are likely to change so I will avoid going into detail about visuals and other things that will likely be updated before its official launch.

For a beta, Casters of Kalderon already has lots of depth and complexity. MMO fans will appreciate someone taking the time to put a game of this scale available on mobile devices. Its free so go ahead and immerse yourself in this dynamic player-driven world. You can also check the game trailer in the video below. Leave a comment and a rating so we can know how you felt about the game.

Kabam has already released a few of their popular and large scale free-to-play MMO games onto Android and now Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon has just recently landed on Google Play. This particular game is based off of the company’s hit web-based title called Dragons of Atlantis. However this version has been rebuilt from the ground up to accommodate mobile devices which is usually a UI issue. Players can expect to find real-time interaction, battle strategy and deep social interactions with detailed 3D modeling of Dragons when they log into this game.

Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon Features:

· Raise Mighty Dragons: Watch your dragons grow from young hatchlings, into armor-clad, fire-breathing death dealers.
· Rebuild the glory of Atlantis: Recover lost wisdom and reclaim Atlantis from the savage Anthropus.
· Customize your Dragons: Discover Dragon eggs and watch as they hatch into 3D, fully interactive dragons, featuring over 50 unique animations.
· Forge alliances with other players: Join an alliance to share the wisdom of the ancients as you strategize in real-time live chat and fight together in fierce conflicts and epic battles.

Basically this is a kingdom building MMORTS game but with more of a focus on growing your own army of dragons. You’ll be using these dragons to fight against other players. Anyone who has played any of these types of games through your browser on your PC, or on your Android device for that matter, should have no problem jumping into this game.

Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon is now available for download off of Google Play and yes it will be free-to-play like all of Kabam’s games are.

Spartan Wars: Empire of Honor allows you to harness the power of mythology’s greatest figures as you lead your army of blood-thirsty Spartans toward world domination! The world is waiting for a leader like you!
After a short tutorial, which can be skipped, of course, the player can take their first steps in their own Spartan village. The first few hours of playing the game are spent building and expanding individual buildings, which you’ve tactically positioned. Just like you probably know from other MMOs, this takes almost no time at all to take care of, especially since the building time is fairly quick. Later on in the game, you’ll have to wait an hour or two. It’s often the case that the buildings are already done being built and you lose precious minutes and don’t react in time. With the notification system, which they are built into Spartan Wars, the user will be notified that the building process is complete and can then promptly react. This is a huge advantage in comparison to other competing games. It also makes a difference in this app’s final rating.

SUMMON POWERFUL GODS!
Zeus, Apollo, Athena, Hades and many more are awaiting to be summoned and harnessed to lay waste to your opponents across the Spartan continent.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR CITY!
Take the reigns and build your city as you see fit, growing your population and military prowess.
FIGHT EVIL, CAPTURE GLORY!
Defeat rival humans and evil forces on the map with wisdom and strategy. Take no prisoners.
Cooperate and Compete with Friends
You can never underestimate the power of a friend at your back in Spartan Wars, to assist in your time of greatest need. Unite and win!
Spartan Wars Features:
✔ Compete in an arena of thousands of players around the world
✔ Train an army of blood-thirsty soldiers willing to do your bidding
✔ Strategically learn and activate over 100 different God abilities
✔ Locate and conquer barbarians on the boundless regional map
✔ Explore mysterious caves filled with treasure and unknown beasts

Colony Attack

This space strategy game starts you out on a barren planet, it’s here you’ll build various facilities and create your massive space fleet for exploration and attack missions. Building happens in real-time, with the amount of time taken to complete ramping up as you progress. The ship designs are presented using nicely realised 3D models with good detail. Accessing the higher tiers of vessel requires you to upgrade your base – a task which can be sped up using nanites(premium currency). Upgrades are also available to improve the stats of your facilities and vessels.

Once you’ve amassed a suitably sized fleet, it’s time to venture out into the galaxy, exploring debris, nebulae and asteroids or attacking the evil empire, pirates and other players too. Disappointingly there is no graphical element for any of this, and you’ll simply be provided a text-based report once the mission has completed. Missions will sometimes yield rewards including extra resources or salvaged vessels to add to your fleet.

There’s not a whole lot of game here, but I still find Colony Attack pretty addictive. It requires plenty of attention in the early hours, but once upgrades and build time progresses to the 12-24hour levels you’ll find yourself coming back to it less and less frequently.

Monster Blade

Nubee has brought their idea of Monster Hunter to Android with a game called Monster Blade. Going out, hunting down big monsters using big weapons and skills is what its all about right? Well Monster Blade is pretty much like a Monster Hunter game (in theme) where you go out and hunt down big monsters with big weapons. The game supports full online gameplay so you and your friends can team up to take down even tougher monsters than you would be able to running solo.

FEATURES:
★ FREE TO PLAY
★ Gorgeous HD Visuals
★ Epic Battles with powerful Monsters and Dragons
★ Call upon your Friends to help you in battle and turn the tides in your favor
★ Customize your Hero with over 400 unique Weapons & Armor
★ Collect Weapon & Armor Sets to unlock secret abilities
★ Gain the power of the Godbeasts – Transform into powerful Monsters and use their special attacks
★ Challenge others in the Leaderboard and win special rewards

If you’re a fan of Monster Hunter style of games then you might want to check out Monster Blade. One complaint is that the game doesn’t come with a PvP mode. It’ll be interesting to see if that is added in the future.

First Wood War

A new 3D RTS (Real-Time Strategy) game has arrived onto Google Play this morning called First Wood War. This particular RTS game is more in the style of siege warfare type of games then say an RTS game like Warcraft. However, this is actually a pretty detailed RTS game even for a siege type of title with a pretty deep skill and technology tree, multiple paths that you and your enemy can take, and animated battlegrounds with hazards as well. Developed by United Apps Limited, this game comes with both single players and multiplayer PvP modes and some pretty solid visuals and animated battlegrounds to fight your enemies in.

Game Features:
✔ The true RTS experience on Android. Discover breathtaking battles in HD 3D!
✔ PvP Multiplayeer! Join real-time battles against other players
✔ Over 50 different units, artillery and 20 fortifications – chose your own battle tactics for success!
✔ Advanced TECH TREE – upgrade your armies and buildings, discover new battle units!
✔ Optimized controls – easy to learn for both new and veteran RTS players.
✔ Over 20 UNIQUE battle locations (maps), three difficulty modes and dynamic AI to make each battle unique!
✔ Original and unique world. Amazing creatures and locations will make your journey unforgettable

As you can see with the above list of features, content-wise First Wood War has plenty of it. The fact that there is such a deep tech tree with so many units (over 50), each with upgrades, means that this game has a lot of possibilities strategy-wise to use. The real challenge will be going up against other people online in PvP multiplayer with their unique army builds.

Vendetta Online

Vendetta Online: 3D Space MMO is a graphically intensive , cross-platform MMORPG set in space. Players take the role of spaceship pilots in a vast, persistent online galaxy. Trade between stations and build an empire, or pirate traders who dare to pursue routes through areas of lawless space. Fight other players, or cooperate with friends to push back the mysterious Hive. Mine ores and minerals, gather resources, and craft unusual items. Join the military of your nation, and participate in massive online battles (see the trailer). A wide variety of gameplay styles are available, from the the intensity of huge battles and realtime PvP, to the low-key enjoyment of quiet trading and mining in less dangerous areas of the galaxy. Play the style of game that suits you, or that suits your current mood. The availability of relatively casual and short-term goals allows for fun when only a little time is available to play.

For those of you who already play the space themed MMORPG Vendetta Online on your Android devices, or your PCs should you play it on there as well, you can expect a surge of players to be heading into the game come April 17th, 2013. Why? That is because the iOS version of the game will be hitting iTunes on that date. Not only will you be able to take on players who are logged in on either Android devices or through their PCs, you will soon have the ability to take out iOS gamers as well in a couple of weeks. So, since iOS gamers are about to jump into the battle, we figured we might as well give all of you Android players a heads up a couple of weeks in advance. If you haven’t tried Vendetta Online and dig the whole space MMORPG type of gaming, you should check this game out.

Pocket Fleet Multiplayer

Pocketfleet is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) released for mobile. It is a free multiplayer space dogfight game where users can match up with thousands of other players online in this fast paced space shooter that is available on Android phones and tablets. Upon first entering the game you are given the option to sign up for a free account. I’m not sure if the servers are not up to par but my connection was rather slow and I kept getting high ping ratings while I was connected to my wifi which has pretty good speed.
With that aside I found the game to be rather fun. The controls were awkward at first. The game uses tilt controls which I’m not too fond of but once I got the hang of it it was smooth sailing. I didn’t test out the player vs player (PvP) action because everyone perpetually plays in co-op to take down the AI-controlled Mothership.
While It’s true that the game is free, ship and weapons upgrades can be purchased via IAP(in app purchases). These upgrades allow you to become much more powerful rather or you can use in-game cash earned by killing enemies and beating stages. You’ll have to play a heck of a lot to actually buy anything powerful though.

As is, Pocket Fleet Multiplayer is definitely worth a try, but there is definitely room for improvement. One thing I would like to see is an option to change the controls. Real-time space battling is fun for a while, but the lag should be on top of the list of things to fix in their next update.
