QuizUp, the trivia game that has taken iOS by storm, has finally made its way onto Android. Developers Plain Vanilla Games only waited four months after the addictive game made its iOS release to do so. If you’ve played the iOS version, you shouldn’t expect anything different from its Android counterpart.
When the game first starts you’ll be asked to link a Facebook,Google+ account, or sign up by email. You then pick a topic to be quizzed on from over 400 choices. QuizUp then matches you up with another player who shares your level of expertise on that topic. From what we can tell, matchmaking is based on the game’s matching algorithm, but occasionally we found outselves face off with a more experienced player. Also, If you’ve already played QuizUp on iOS, your nickname, achievements, messages, and score data all will carry over to Android.
Categories are also separated into to help players weed through hundreds of topics and thousands of questions. The amount of choices are very numerous. We’re willing to bet that if you can think of it, there’s likely a topic for it on QuizUp. Each game is divided into 7 rounds, and in the final round the question is worth double the normal amount of points. The faster you answer, the more points you win. What makes QuizUp so addicting? The game is never really over until it’s over. You might be losing only to wind up winning after a last-minute comeback.
QuizUp also tracks your in game performance with all sorts of stats and data for you to mull over. You’re able to review every game you’ve ever played and even see which questions were asked. Perfectionists will find this very handy when trying to figure out areas one needs to improve upon. Below is a link to download the app for free.
